How to use the search functions

The portal provides three search functions: feature-based search, source-based search and full-text search:

  • Feature-based search

The feature-based search allows you to search for specific features across the collection, for example “serpent”:

  • Source-based search

The source-based search allows you to search for specific sources, for example “Reuven Ṣarfati, Perush zulati”:

  • Full-text search

The full-text search allows you to search for a specific word or portion of text across the collection, for example if you look for “אין סוף”, “Ein Sof”, you will be able to see all the passages where the words occur and the relevant English translation. The full-text search function works in Hebrew and English.
